Bow and Rise are the latest results of Zaha Hadid Architects' extensive research into 3D printing and materials experimentation.
These chairs combine pure design based on structural optimization processes commonly found in nature with the use of innovative materials and the most advanced manufacturing methods.
The pattern and color gradient of both pieces coincide in redefining the traditional spatial relationship between furniture and its surroundings. Bow and Rise were printed with a pellet extruder that uses raw plastic particles instead of filament. The plastic chosen is PLA, a non-toxic and biodegradable material from renewable sources like corn starch.
